Mobile Check Deposit

Mobile Check Deposit is a fast and easy feature that enables you to safely and conveniently deposit checks into your accounts using the camera on your smartphone or tablet.

Using Mobile Check Deposit you can make an IRA contribution for the current or prior year between January 1 and Tax Day. Your yearly contribution limit will be displayed as well as any contributions you have made. 

Requirements

You must have the most recent version of the Client Access app on your Apple or Android device, and you must be enrolled in Client Access through the desktop version of the site.  Login or create a Client Access account.

How to Use Mobile Check Deposit

You will have a new menu option called Deposit Checks.

  1. Select the account where you want to deposit the check
  2. Enter the amount
  3. Take a picture of the front and back of the check
  4. Click Make Deposit.

You will receive a confirmation page and a confirmation email. You will also see the deposit in Pending Activity as soon as the check is submitted.

We recommend that you mark the check as deposited and keep it for 14 days to ensure it has been accepted and completely processed.

Account Eligibility

Most Capital Access, retail, and non-managed advisory accounts (discretionary & non-discretionary) as well as individual contributions to traditional, Roth, and SEP IRAs are allowed.

SEP contributions (employer and employee) are not allowed to be deposited via mobile check deposit into SEP or SARSEP accounts.

The following are not eligible for Mobile Check Deposit.

  • Corporate
  • Direct
  • AMS Managed
  • Minor
  • Pledged
  • Qualified plans
  • SIMPLE IRAs
  • 72(t)
  • Fiduciary (Estate, Guardianship, Conservatorship, etc.)

Deposit and Check Types

The following deposit and check types are not eligible for Mobile Check Deposit.

  • Fee payments
  • Foreign checks
  • Rollover checks
  • Starter/Counter checks
